Welcome New Trust Officer: Shannon James
October 30, 2017
The ATG Trust Company team is proud to welcome our newest trust officer, Shannon James. Shannon has extensive experience working with clients in diverse situations. Her ability to build strong relationships with clients, family members, care managers and attorneys makes her a tremendous asset to the ATG TC team.
Shannon comes to us from the Adult Guardianship Division of the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian. During her time there, she devised plans for her clients including the development of long-term individualized budgets, evaluating the sale of real and personal property, planning for public benefits, identifying investment needs and assisting in the creation of special needs trusts. Prior to spending four years in the Adult Division, Shannon served for five years as an attorney and Guardian ad Litem in the Juvenile Division where she advocated for clients through collaboration with medical and mental health professionals.
Before entering law school, Shannon served as a Family Medical Leave Act Specialist with the ComPsych Corporation where she collaborated with clients, the Department of Labor and various disability carriers to ensure consistent application of federal laws. Shannon received her B.A. from Kenyon College and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
"All of Shannon's prior experience make her uniquely qualified to serve as our trust officer who is primarily focused on Special Needs Trust and Guardianship administration," said Kathryn Van Eeuwen, President and CEO, ATG Trust Company.
